Teachers are allowed to nominate one student for each of the following awards.

  • Opal Hamilton Award: Nominee has earned all A’s every grading period, shown leadership ability and is clearly outstanding in all categories with no disciplinary infractions. Two grade level winners will be determined by an anonymous committee selection using completed nominee written interviews.
     
  • Tiger Paw Award: Student is self-motivated, determined, and constantly strives for success.
     
  • Citizenship Award: Student exemplifies REAL (Respectful Excellent Accountable Leadership) expectations and acts as a good role model.
     
  • Spirit Award: Student participates enthusiastically in all school activities.
     
  • Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Medal: Student exemplifies the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism (8th grade only). One winner is selected by a campus-wide faculty vote.
     
  • Outstanding in Subject Areas: Student is self-motivated, performs above and beyond requirements in subject, and/or participates in extracurricular activities.
     
  • Outstanding in Electives: Student has excellent participation, above average performance, shows leadership ability and responsibility.
     
  • Outstanding in Physical Education: Student scores high on the physical fitness test, has earned A’s and E’s in P.E. and exemplifies REAL expectations.

 

The following awards are given based on report card averages.

  • Distinguished Honor Roll: Students earned all A’s each grading period, while maintaining satisfactory conduct.
     
  • Honor Roll*: Students earned all A’s and B’s with more A’s than B’s each grading period, while maintaining satisfactory conduct. *6th grade ELAR counts twice in this calculation due to being a two-period blocked course.
